Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Dance Company

Posted July 13th by caroline in DC, Kennedy Center, Washington, art, dance

dakshina_fullsizeThis evening, the Dakshina/Daniel Phoenix Dance Company will be performing at the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage for free. The local company (their hq is on 16th Street) will be performing “Bharata Natyam, Modern Dance and Fusion Works.” You can even join the dancers for a post-performance drink and chat.

There will be lots to talk about with these ambitious performers. The company aims to bring a variety of Indian dance forms to audiences and stages, while also using dance as a form of communication and a means of engaging with the community.
