Get thee some cheap Shakespeare

Been craving a few rhyming sonnets lately? Talking a bit too much in text? We’ve all been there. The finely trained actors at the Academy for Classical Acting, run by the Shakespeare Theatre Company, will be staging two plays: William Shakespeare’s Pericles and Thomas Middleton’s Women Beware Women. The shows go up today and run through July 5. Both promise stories of love, tragedy, good and evil. And the best part? Tickets are by donation ($10 suggested).
And, here’s a tip: If you are young (or somewhat young–as in 35 and under), professional (or something close to it), you can get $10 tickets to plays at DC’s Shakespeare HQ! The Shakespeare Theatre Company offers discounted tickets for its monthly Young Professionals events. Also, get thee to the box office. Every Tuesday, starting at 10 a.m., the theatre box offices at the Sidney Harman Hall Box Office (610 F St. NW) and the Lansburgh Theatre Box Office (450 7th St. NW) offer a limited number of $10 tickets for the under 35 crowd. For more information, check the website.
